City of Davis extends Respite Center program through June 20, 2023!

Launched Feb 24, 2020 in partnership with the City of Davis, CommuniCare’s Respite Center serves individuals experiencing housing instability in our community.

The Daytime Respite Center provides a variety of services and assistance to the unhoused population of Davis, including behavioral and medical care services, counseling, and veterinary services. This week members of the Davis City Council voted to extend the program through June 20, 2023!

CommuniCare’s Associate Clinical Director of Community Mental Health Tegwin Millard emphasizes the importance of the sense of dignity the Respite Center helps provide to unhoused individuals. “One of the primary drivers for people coming to the center is just being able to have safety and feel like a human.”
